Like so many well intended plans, many of us start off strong and courageous. We may decide to read through the entire bible in a year. And that’s great. There are plenty of Bible reading plans for that out there. Yet many of us know the realities of finishing such a plan. It just may not happen. But don’t get discouraged. Go smaller. So, here are a few plans to get you started that may be doable and beneficial with your busy lifestyle. May also be a great time to take a “Next Step“.

1. Attend Sunday Morning services and listen to Pastor Neal’s sermons on “Getting Closer to God” starting Jan. 15. An active, growing faith works to make our lives better, complete with healthier relationships. However, many don’t know what to do to make that happen. We love helping people discover what they need to know and do to get closer to God. Just real people helping real people get to know God better.

2. Watch the series “Starting Over” by Andy Stanley on RightNow MediaWe’ve all had the experience of putting something together only to have to take it apart and start over. That’s ok if it’s only a gas grill, but it’s not okay if it’s your life.

Your career…..
Your marriage…..
Your dreams…..

How do you break the cycle of mistakes and failed attempts? In this 4-part series, Andy Stanley offers practical advice to ensure that the next time won’t be the last time.

3. Watch the series “Re-Align: Finding God’s Purpose for Your Money” by Josh and Jenny Lawson on RightNow Media. The REALIGN Class is a revolutionary financial curriculum that is not simply about getting your finances in order by getting on a budget and getting out of debt, but about our relationships with God, ourselves and others back on track so that we can manage our money better for a greater impact! The power of this class is that God is brought into every financial decision as we learn to say yes to His plans instead of living for ourselves.

By attending the REALIGN Class and applying what is being taught, we believe that every single person will walk closer with God by allowing Him into their financial decisions, and they will have more peace and purpose in their day to day lives.

REALIGN is not a financial class centered around wealth-building. At it’s core this class is about getting our minds and hearts aligned with God and managing our resources to see a great impact for God’s Kingdom.

4. Read through the Psalms (150 chapters) for the month of January. The idea here is to read “the Psalm of the day” plus the next Psalms when you add multiples of 30 to the day. For example, Jan. 1 would equal Psalm 1, 31, 61, 91, 121. You would end up reading 5 Psalms a day except for when you read Psalm 119 because it’s pretty long by itself. One way to accomplish this daily Psalm plan would be to read 2 of the Psalms in the morning, 1 at lunch time, and 2 before bed. You can do it. You have one month to tackle a reading plan. No long term commitment. If you don’t finish, you have the next month.
