Lottie Moon Annual Christmas Prayer and Offering
Lottie Moon was a missionary to China in the 1800s. She labored tirelessly so her people group could know Jesus. Throughout her career, Lottie Moon wrote letters home urging Southern Baptists to greater missions involvement and support. One of those letters triggered Southern Baptists’ first Christmas offering for international missions – enough to send three new missionaries to China. Lottie Moon is now the namesake of the Southern Baptist international Christmas missions offering. 100% of the money given through the Lottie Moon offering goes directly to missionaries. It has become a large portion of SBC’s international mission efforts. The national goal this year is $175 Million.
