New Year, New You

Our out of the gate theme for 2017 is New Year, New You! For many of us, that means to keep on becoming the “New You” we already are in Christ. I have likened this journey to riding a bicycle. On a bike, to get somewhere, we do the same thing over and over again. We peddle. As we peddle, we can climb steep inclines as well as pick up great speed as we catch a downhill. The more we peddle, the further and the faster we go, and ultimately, we can find ourselves some 10, 15 or even 100 miles from where we started.

In becoming who we are in Christ, we should follow the same principles. Great transformation comes from doing good, spiritually healthy things repeatedly. Things like praying, worshiping, connecting with other believers (fellowship), reading and studying the Word, and the like. I wish I could tell you there was just some special three-day seminar you could attend and it would all be over, but it doesn’t work that way. Great change, becoming the New You, takes doing the same spiritual peddling over and over again. So, my challenge to you…start peddling and keep on peddling.

Not sure where to begin? We have tried to give you some great ideas to get started. You will find them here.  You will find a host of good things you can use to start off the new year right. You will find some suggested video studies, recommendations for daily devotional resources, a link to an annual bible reading plan as well as a one month reading plan through Psalms. Lots of good stuff. Check it out. Get started.

Let’s make 2017 the year of the New You. Start your spiritual peddling early and don’t stop!

Blessings,

Neal
